ABOUT US

The Loekie van Wyk Technical School is going to be built by our community, for our community.

We want to restore hope and human dignity in our youth and equip them to plough back into the local economy.

Learner numbers

When finished, the school is expected to accommodate approximately one thousand learners. The school will be built in phases though and so if all goes according to plan, the first intake in 2025 will be approximately 200 grade 8 and 200 grade 9 learners with full capacity expected in 2028.

Fees

The cost of education will be free of charge, in other words, this will be a no-fee school.

Language

This will be a dual-medium school with Afrikaans and English as the languages of instruction. There will be extra bridging classes and support for learners whose mother tongue is isiXhosa.

Location

The school will be walking distance from the relatively new U-Save in Greenville and opposite the new LIV Early Childhood Development Centre. Head to the “Contact” page to see the site’s location on a map.
